Coalition

Comprised of the National Association of Minority Contractors—Washington, DC Metropolitan Area Chapter (NAMC-WMAC), Inner Thoughts, Inc., and the DC Concerned Black Business Owners, the group was established in February 2021 to assist Mayor Bowser’s initiative “Building Blocks DC, Gun Violence Prevention Emergency Operations Center” designed to decrease gun violence in the Nation’s Capital.

ABOUT

Jobs Not Guns!

Jobs Not Guns was created to assist Mayor Bowser’s initiative  “Building Blocks DC, Office of Gun Violence Prevention” to decrease gun violence in the District of Columbia by Creating Jobs and Building Careers! by coordinating with employers, training/apprentice programs and support services working together to build a strong workforce.
 
Jobs Not Drugs was established as a member of the Transformers Rite of Passage Experience (R.O.P.E.), a collaboration of organizations to provide opioid abatement East of the River in Wards 7 and 8. Funded by the DC Department of Behavioral Health to lessen or end the impacts of the opioid epidemic in the District of Columbia.
