Volunteer Services

The Coalition blends our volunteers in every aspect of producing the Jobs Not Guns Initiatives.  We are committed to promoting and incorporating the usage of volunteers to our prospective employers, businesses, training programs and support organizations in the design, delivery and coordination of events within the communities.  We recruit volunteers who are willing to perform tasks or offer services to benefit the communities without financial gain. We share the benefits of volunteers that include:

  • Developing social skills
  • Learning job skills
  • Coordinating schedules and organizing tasks to be performed
  • Advancing their career by practicing skills used in the workplace

We recruit and manage volunteers to assist in their ability to:

  • Work in a team structure
  • Verbally communicate with persons inside or outside our organization and our programs
  • Make decisions, recommendations and solutions for problems
  • Obtain information regarding the goals and objectives of the Jobs Not Guns Initiative
  • Utilize and expand their computer software programs
  • Create a database of the variety of contacts
  • Develop ability to create and/or edit written reports

The personal benefits to the volunteers can include:

  • Practice and develop social skills
  • Receive a sense of achievement and purpose
  • Feel a part of a group
  • Feel a part of a community
  • Improve their self-esteem and confidence
  • Share their talents, learn new skills
  • Combat stress, loneliness, social isolation
